Default Re: No Walmart for me thanks

We tried to avoid Wally World at all costs for reasons already stated. But it is hard to not avoid them completely because there is a Walmart every few miles around here. Our city, Pflugerville, just got a Super Walmart 1 year ago. Our only grocery shopping was HEB since it was closest. They fairly economical but not cheap like Wally World and lack a lot of the "amenities" Walmart offers to its consumers such as price matching; all shopping needs under one roof, etc. Most of the people who live here were so excited to have Walmart come in. One of the many reasons is that it helped our property taxes. We have some of the highest property taxes in the area around 6% because we are mostly residential. Our local businesses haven't seemed to suffer that much. Plus the addition of Walmart has stimulated other types of economic growth and encourages our residents to spend more of their money locally.

While I may despise Walmart's ethics, policies, etc, I can definitely see why some people like Walmart.
