Does your Kroger have a small "Nature's Market" area dedicated to natural/organic items? That's how the Krogers in my area are set up, and I've noticed that they have a lot of markdowns in that area for items that are still waaaay ahead of expiration. My *guess* is b/c that area is so small, that they have to clear things more often to make room on the shelves for new things. It could mean that the item is being discontinued from the manufacturer, but it could also be that they just don't have enough shelf space to keep everything.

You could always contact Guiltless Gourmet through their website, and express concern w/ Kroger clearing out the items, and that you're a loyal consumer, yada yada, and they may send you some coupons!
