THUMBS DOWN Trader Joes Cherry Granola Cookies

derketchup and bexx kindly took me to Trader Joes last week when I visited them in Tacoma, so I just have to write a review if only for the sheer novelty of it. *sigh* I miss Trader Joes - boo hoo.

Anyway, we stopped in after we ate lunch at a fatastic local establishment, so the only thing on my mind was SWEETS. Plus, I needed something portable for my flight home the following day.

Looking for something that dh and I would both agree on, I settled for the Cherry Granola Cookies. To be honest, they may have a different name, since I long ago tossed the container - but the name definitely had "cherry", "granola", and "cookie" in the title.

The first two ingredients were granola and brown rice syrup, I do remember that.

Well, how do I say this? I have not met too many cookies I didn't love...but there was NO love for these so called cookies. At all. Blech. I only ate one, if that tells you anything. Didn't even need to try a second to see if the taste would grow on me. These were really sticky (in fact, they were all stuck together in the container and hard to pull apart). The taste was totally ick. Not sure if it was the brown rice syrup or what, but I couldn't even pinpoint what was so aweful.

I tossed these in our carry-on bag anyway, and hubby did manage to finish off the entire container while waiting at the airport, but just as he was finishing up the last one, exclaimed, "Don't ever buy those again!"
