Palm oil is a saturated fat. It can raise your blood cholesterol levels, unlike corn oil, safflower oil and soy oil which are high in polyunsaturated fat and can reduce it. This is semi-controversial and there are conflicting reports, but I try to avoid it because I am one of the ones on the side that it is not good for you. Many Kashi products have palm oil in them as well, which is why I always read their labels carefully, and only eat their organic items.

Granted, they don't have HFCS, but if you can stay away from the palm oil too, then you're that much better off...in my opinion.
Then there's those of us who believe the research that shows that a high sugar and low fat diet is more likely to raise your cholesterol levels than a diet with saturated fats. ;) We use palm oil and coconut oil in our household rather than canola.

But YMMV... different people follow different dietary plans and different ones work for different people.

Thanks for the info though!
