DEAD DEAL Superfresh Sales Jan 30-Feb 5

Superfresh Sales Jan 30-Feb 5
View the ad: Welcome to Superfresh : My Store : Weekly Specials Page

My Picks for the Week

America's Choice seedless navel oranges 8 lb bag $3.98
Oranges are #19 on the Dirty Dozen list which makes them alright to eat non-organic varieties of. Navel oranges are still in season and this is a great price.

Horizon Organic Milk 64 oz $3.49
This is a decent regular price on Organic milk, but it's a better deal if you have a coupon for it. There is a 55 cents off coupon from parents magazine which would bring the price for the DHA variety down to $2.39. There is also a coupon for 75 cents off 3 which would yield a $1.50 discount after doubling the coupon, for those of you who go through a lot of milk.

Kashi frozen entrees $2.99
There are various $1 off or $1/2 coupons listed in the database, which brings this around $2 or $2.50 per box. If you're the type of person who relies on frozen meals for your work day, this is a decent option for you. I personally like to have a couple in the freezer for times when I'm in a rush or am too tired to cook that night. I wouldn't call this a stock-up deal (Kashi sometimes has Catalina sales, where you get a coupon off your next order for buying a certain $ amount), but it's good for the reasons I mentioned above.

1855 All Natural premium Italian sweet sausage $2.99/lb
This is a fair price for natural sausage. I don't know a lot about this brand, so I'd probably check the package make sure that the meat was raised on a grass-fed diet and without hormones or antibiotics before purchasing.

Earthbound Farm Organic baby salad mix 11 oz $5.99
This is a decent price on salad mix if you don't have other stores in the area that carry it for less. At Costco, I can get an additional 5 ounces of salad mix for less than what's offered here, as their EB Farm organic baby salad mix is just under $5 for a 1 lb clamshell container. If you don't have other options, this is a viable choice. Be sure to use the $1/1 any Earthbound Farm coupon listed in the database for the best deal.

Steer clear!
Laura's Lean Ground Beef or Patties $5.99/lb
From what I've seen at other grocery stores, organic ground beef is priced on the high side at $4.99/lb, so I always try to look for something less than $4.99/lb when I'm buying ground beef. Beef is definitely something you should buy organic or natural raised, and it's worth the extra money. Traditional beef products contain hormones and are fed grain, not grass, so the meat is fattier than an organic variety. The last time I checked, this is Superfresh's regular price on the Laura's beef so it's not truly on sale. Wait for better deals to come, or check around towards the end of the sale for marked down packages.

Unfortunately, there's nothing at Superfresh that really jumps out at me as a must-have deal for this week. If I'm out with a little time to spare, I will probably swing by and pick up a bag of oranges, and possibly a couple of Kashi frozen meals, but that's it for this week. If you have other stores in your area, I'd check their organic deals and consider making a trip elsewhere.
