Shaw's Wild Harvest 4/17 to 4/23/09

ConAgra Catalina Promotion: Buy $25, Get $10 catalina good OYNO (on your next order).
  • The only thing that is somewhat worthwhile for the organic crowd is the Hebrew National Beef Franks. They are on sale for B1G1F. Some members at Hot Coupon World are reporting that they are about $6.48 each. Since the Catalina goes buy shelf price, you’d only have to buy 4 packages to get to/over the $25 mark. The sales price for all 4 packages would be $13.96 if $6.48 each. Several coupons are available: $1/1 February All You, $1/1 Hebrew National Beef Franks (12oz. or larger), any, $1/1 Hebrew National Beef Product, or a $.75/1 Booklet.
  • Here’s the break down: (4) = $13.96 – (4) $1/1 = $9.96, get $10 OYNO!
  • I just read at HCW that this promotion is ending tonight. Right now it is hearsay, but it was supposedly confirmed by Catalina.
The Wild Harvest Organic Salad Blends is on sale for 2/$7. If you have the IP, you can get them for $2.50 each. Lettuce is one of the dirty dozen, so it pays in the long run to buy organic. You can make a great salad with lettuce, strawberries, a little cheese, and some poppy seed dressing.

So remember a couple weeks ago, I told you to run from the conventional strawberries? Well, this week I think you should run to the Wild Harvest organic strawberries! They are only $2.50 per lb., but if you have a WH IP, you can get them for $1.50! That is almost unheard of!!! I will be getting at least 2 lbs. this week.

Organic Valley Butter & Organic Valley Half & Half (both sizes) are $1 OFF 2. Combine this with the $2/2 coupons and you have an even better deal. I don’t buy a lot of dairy, but it may be better to try and find this in the markdown dairy area. You wouldn’t be able to get the $1 off 2 sale price this week, but it may be a better deal with the other coupon.

Buying a whole chicken is a great way to go if you eat meat. You can get more than one meal out of one chicken, and you can even make your own stock for later use. The Wild Harvest Whole Chicken is only $1.69/lb. this week. Check out the great recipes in the recipe forum or share your favorite!

Now is a great time to redeem your free coupons for Kashi Entréesor Pockets (9.5-10 oz. Entrées or 5.5 oz. Pockets), since they are 3/$10 this week. The coupon value doesn’t go up as high as the Shaw’s shelf price, so I’ve been waiting for a sale! If you have the $2/1 coupons, you can also get the entrees for $1.34. Here is a thread to share your opinion on these meals.

Nature’s Pride Bread (20 - 24 oz., Selected Varieties) is 2/$5 again. There are $.55/1 peelies available. (I found mine at Hannaford). I did notice that every loaf that I looked at had some form of dairy in it. I still may get a loaf or two to throw in the freezer for when we have company. At $1.40 a loaf, it’s a pretty good deal. This is not an organic variety, but it does say on the package that it is 100% natural. That term is a little “up in the air” for me. Do I buy it? Don’t I? To go along with the same idea, Shaw’s Natural Bread(24 oz.) is B1G1.

Just in time for some spring cleaning:

Arm & Hammer Essentials Cleaner & Degreaser (32 oz.) will be free after a Try-Me-Free offer! If you have a $1/1 (4/19 SS) or the BOGO peelie, this would be a great money maker or a great chance to get 2 free! Your OOP would only be $1.50 or $2.50/2 depending on what coupon you use.

Clorox green works Wipes, Cleaner or Dishwashing Soap (30 - 62 ct. Wipes, 24 - 32 oz. Cleaner or 22 oz. Soap) are $3 each. I know that I try to avoid the “green” products from companies that also make harmful chemical cleaners too. I’d like to give them the benefit of the doubt about trying to do the right thing, but I’m not sure I believe it all. You can find coupons in the 3/29 RP, IP, hangtags, or in booklets.

Great opportunity to donate:
Colgate Toothpaste or Colgate Wave Toothbrush (6.4 oz. Toothpaste or 1 - ct. Toothbrush, Selected Varieties) is 2/$3. In the 3/29 SS, there are $.75/1 toothpaste and toothbrush coupons. You could get these items for free and donate to a local food pantry.

Kotex Pantiliners
(15 - 22 ct., Selected Varieties) are $1 each. With the recent $.75/1 coupon (4/5 SS), you may get overage to be used towards your other groceries.
