Product Philosophy

We pride ourselves on our stringent definition of what makes food the best it can be. Great food begins with pure ingredients as close to their natural state as possible. You don’t need artificial ingredients to make a delicious meal—only the best and freshest ingredients.
Since there is no legal definition of “natural,” Earth Fare’s food philosophy serves as the guideline used for determining whether or not a product can be placed on our shelves.
At Earth Fare, we offer foods and products that are free of:

• Artificial preservatives
• Artificial flavors and colors
• Artificial sweeteners including sucralose and high fructose corn syrup
• Artificial growth stimulants in dairy, meats and poultry like antibiotics and synthetic hormones
• Hydrogenated and partially hydrogenated oils
• Bleached and bromated flours
• Cottonseed oil
• Irradiation
• Synthetic pesticides, herbicides and fungicides
• Genetically modified organisms

Generally speaking, our philosophy can be summed up with two phrases: "If you don’t need it, why eat it?" and "As close to the ground as it gets – the better!"
