Newman's Own Pizza

Have you tried it?

What did you think?

I haven't tried this, and I won't because it has cow's cheese on it. But, I know that this is a fairly new product that is not available in all regions. I think DH would like the uncured pepperoni one, but is the flavor of "uncured" noticeable?

I haven't tried it.

I don't think you should eat anything "uncured". Sounds infectious.

I get awful migraines from the nitrates in cured meats, so when DH and I have hot dogs, ham, bacon, etc, we always buy the uncured organic meats. I honestly haven't noticed a taste difference, though I can't say that I remember having uncured pepperoni before.

I haven't tried the pizza since we're not living in one of the test markets from the article you posted. We usually make our own, but we do like to keep a frozen pizza around for times when we want something quick. The Trader Joe's organic vegetarian pizza we get occasionally is $5 and change so I'm interested in seeing if they do come out with a veggie version.

Same as Kristen, I buy uncured bacon and dogs. And I get nitrate free turkey breast from the deli once in awhile.
I don't notice a difference in taste.

Haven't tried the Newman's pizza yet though. Can't find it here.

I have several coupons for it, but haven't tried it. Both S&S and Big Y carry it, but I'm waiting for it to go on sale.

We have tried the Pepperoni pizza and I think the supreme. We liked both types and I would purchase again if the price was right. My kids liked the pizza too.

Default Re: Newman's Own Pizza

I found Newman's own pizza in my local Albertsons last Friday and picked up the "Supreme" for 5,99 on special.

Well, if you want to throw away your money ...

It's called a pizza but uses flax seed for the bottom and tasts like a cracker with toppings. There were 5 stingy slices of peppers, some little meatballs, some tomato paste, uncured peperoni and some meatballs.

We didn't experience any flavor and everything was overpowered by the taste of the meatballs.

They have a nice little fantasy story on the back of the packaging about an Italian boy from Sicilia who invented this "flavorful" pizza ...

This was the first and last time that I bought frozen pizza from Newman's own.

In my opinion the best frozen pizzas are: "Culinary Circle - Margeritha Ultra thin", "Wild Harvest - Spinach&Feta" and any of the Trader Joe's pizza offerings.

Chris

Funny, as was the 'infectious' comment by jujubee. LOL!

I haven't personally tried these yet, but I must say I really like the Archer Farms Organic Pizzas (Target brand) and buy them whenever they go on sale, usually around $4. I've been buying the Kashi too for $1.75 w/the $3 tearpad coupons. I'm waiting for these to go on sale BOGO FREE @ Publix to use the rest of the coupons I have left.

I HEART Archer Farms pizzas!!! Though I don't think it's an organic one, I love the margherita one.

And I've had just the cheese Newman's pizza. (with a 4 year old, you can't DARE buy one with any other toppings!), and it was good.
I'm not a big frozen pizza fan to begin with. Something with the sauce never tastes right to me, but I'd pick an AF one any day!

My husband, kids, and I have tried 3 flavors (cheese, pepperoni, & ?). We love them all. When I teased my husband about it being organic (he's a junk food junkie)... he said "I'll forgive it."

We recently had the cheese pizza and we really liked it . Thin, crispy crust and not too much cheese. I did have a $1 off coupon so that helped but the price really isn't that bad. It's enough to feed 3 people.

There are $1.00 off hang tags for the pizzas on the salad dressing bottles in some stores.
