Default Organic mattresses or mattress wraps?

Where should i look to buy one or both of these? I am looking to buy ds a new mattress set and would prefer to buy organic if not too costly, if not, would like to get a mattress wrap to enclose the toxins from a conventional mattress. I would prefer a full size, but would also consider a twin size bed too.

    Thanks

Where are you located? Do you have an Ikea store near you? I did some research when we got our new mattress earlier this year and got one from their Sultan line because their standards are higher about using safer flame retardants, the amount of VOCs the product can emit, and it had an organic cotton mattress cover.

There are lots of other places you can buy a truly organic mattress online, but I'm not familiar enough with any of them to make a recommendation.

Organic mattresses are VERY costly. I've searched online for them, and they are hundreds of dollars for even a twin mattress. If cost is the deciding factor, go for the organic cover. I'm sure you've thought of it, but the health benefits of the organic mattress would probably far out weigh the cost of the organic mattress, considering you spend 1/3 of your life on it (just to sleep).

Does anyone have any updated knowledge on this subject? We are in the market to buy a new mattress for 2 yr old DS - twin size. It appears that organic mattresses start at $600-800.

You can call and request a sample kit which I think is neat! And they will discuss pricing over the phone as well they have both toppers and mattresses.

I just bought a new mattress cover - didn't even think about organic! Funny, cuz I just bought new sheets & duvet specifically because they were part organic cotton.

Anyhow, I was simply excited that the mattress pad was Made in USA, another one of my big plusses.

But now you have me wanting more!

After much deliberation we bought an organic mattress from Ecobaby. My husband did all of the research. We chose a latex, wool and organic cotton twin for our two year old DS. Hubby says, whatever sacrifices are necessary are okay. He wants the 1/3 of his life spent in it to be quality time. Especially since we are an allergy prone family. Thanks for the all the tips!

A couple weeks before we were married, my hubby and I hit about 4 or 5 places in town that sell mattresses. We knew that we wanted a queen size that was comfy, and I preferred organic. We got down to 2 we liked, one was organic and about $350 and the other was not organic and about $450. We went with the $450 one because we got the bed from the same place and they cut us a good deal. If you look around, or even call if there's too many places to be practical, you could get some local ideas. At the time we lived in town and they delivered it to the house for free and would have hauled off any old one we had at no charge as well. : )

I just noticed the other day that we have an organic mattress store in our town. When I get time I want to go in and compare their store prices to online prices.
