I know I've also bought the Kashi TLC chewy granola bars there but I can't remember the price. They also have a larger bag of the Purdue chicken breasts available at my store that ends up being a few cents per lb cheaper than the smaller bag.

Is that a decent price for the Stonyfield yogurt? I try to eat it daily and the Yoplait that I eat now is getting much too expensive! I'm pretty picky about it and don't like the Breyers or the other store brands that are available.

I haven't checked the price of Stonyfield since they went Organic with their entire line, that usually makes things more expensive.

I'd say it's better than the price of most organic yogurts, or soy yogurts like Silk. But, if you had coupons and doubled or tripled, you can probably get a bit better elsewhere.

Then again, Stonyfield only allows one print of each coupon per customer forever, and I don't think they do many inserts. Mambo sprouts has a few SF coupons sometimes, but they alternate coupons with another brand (Brown Cow or Silk, don't remember which), so it's on and off.

DH grabbed some organic soy milk, and the peanut butter. We are out, and I don't have the coupons or sales right now.

Kristen, I checked the price of stonyfield at WF, it's 99c/single cup. There is a coupon in Mambo for the multipacks, which of course they didn't have at my WF!

But...Stonyfield sale this week at SF, and triples to boot!

Does Perdue have a line of chicken that is really natural? The variety they sell in my area claims to be "hormone and steroid free", but they are barred by law from using hormones anyway. Conventional pork is also not allowed to contain any hormones. So their little claim means nothing.

Now if they were advertising that their birds had been fed a vegetarian diet and had not been fed antibiotics, that would be impressive.

But I see these bogus claims quite frequently by companies wanting to cash in on people's ignorance and desire to avoid chemicals in their foods.

It's definitely a "buyer beware" situation at the supermarket.

In my area the 10 lb bags of Earthbound Farms organic carrots are priced at $4.59! What a steal!

They also have multi-packs of the Earthbound Farms organic romaine hearts that I thought were a great price but neglected to actually write down the amount when I was there.

In the soup section I found 6-pack cartons of Pacific organic free-range chicken stock for about $9. (again I didn't write down the price and my receipt has disappeared) The Trader Joe's organic stock runs $1.99, and the Pacific stock runs about $2.79 at the organic market so this is a pretty good deal for when you don't have coupons and your "stock" is running low. They don't seem to carry beef or vegetable stock at my store, but check yours as the products might differ slightly depending on the market.

We FINALLY got a Costco and I went the other day. A week later and you STILL have to wait in line for a member ship, but it was a beautiful day, so no worries (plus **I** got to shop while beloved waited in line). :)

They carry Coleman Organic chicken there (no anti-biotics). They were even giving away free samples and even the seasoing (a poltry blend) was organic. :) The prices were as follows:

Breast (skinless and de-boned) $5.99/lb
Thigh (skinless and de-boned) $3.99/lb
Whole Fryers $1.99/lb

This was cheaper than our local stores (King Soopers - Kroger, Wild Oats, Whole Foods). I have not checked against the locally owned chains as yesterday was my FIRST TIME putting prices in a price book! WOOHOO!!!

Also their red delicious organic apples were $7.99 for 10 pounds (cheaper than the $10/10 that they go on sale for at the local store). HOWEVER, there is an apple picking farm only an hour away that we visit a few times a year that we pick apples at and they are much cheaper there. LOL! Plus, he lets you snack on the apples while you are picking them. I have the cutest pics of all my babies in the wagon munching on apples while we are picking. And we usually have apples for lunch while we are there picking.

I also noticed that the sweet onions I buy from the produce section are now 10 lb bags instead of 5 lb bags. The POM pomegranate juice is also packaged now in a much larger container than they previous carried. Drats! One of the reasons I like Costco more than other club stores because they sell smaller packages of things. I really hope it doesn't continue to change or I'll likely shop there less and less.
