We FINALLY got a Costco membership!

I've wanted to join Costco ever since they built the store in our town, but the location wasn't great for us since we never seemed to be in that area of town. However, we now have a reason to drive past the Costco twice a day, so no more excuses not to join.

I had a very limited budget and only 40 minutes for my first shopping trip *gulp*, but I mainly just wanted to check some things out for future reference.

I was VERY impressed with their produce. We go through an insane amount of fruits & veggies, and here's what we got:

1lb organic spinach - 3.99
5lb Earthbound Farms organic carrots - 4.99
2lb sugar snap peas - 5.49
2lb french green beans - 5.49
Organic raspberries - 3.99
Red potatoes (?lbs) - 4.99
Bell peppers (6 mix of red, yellow, orange) - 5.99
Total produce purchase = 34.93

A few other good buys:
Sabra Hummus - 5.99
Jacks Salsa - 4.99 -1.40 Costco coupon = 3.59
An insanely gigantic bag of organic tortilla chips - 4.49
2pk organic bread - 5.35
26pk (?) Babybell cheese - 9.65 (My dd BEGS for these every time we're at the grocery and I never buy them b/c they're too expensive even with coupon, so this price was a steal of a deal for me!)

A few things that disappointed me:
~The price for organic milk was not cheaper than I can get at my grocery.
~They didn't have the big box of Boca burgers that I was desparately hoping for.
~I couldn't find any organic juice not in juice boxes/pouches.

I didn't have time to look at any of the dried/box food items, so I'll be scoping that out on my next trip. Overall I'm glad we took the plunge. Just on the produce savings alone the membership will well be worth it!

I'm so glad for you! We do get a lot of great deals on organic stuff there, even better than some sales/coupons at other stores. The produce alone is definitely worth it, and if yours has a gas station that's something to consider as well.

They have a lot of organic/natural kids items. You can get big multi-packs of fruit leather, granola bars, the Honest Kids juice pouches, and even some organic cereals/crackers. If you're a fan of POM they also have the lowest price- by far- of anything I've ever seen.

Way cool!!! I am also surprised that you didn't find any organic juice not in boxes as my Costco sells organic OJ in the cooler along with the veggies, and the Poms, Naked Juices, etc. just outside of the cooler. Weird. Maybe they are located in a different part of your store? More reason to go back and scout the rest of the store for any hidden deals!

I didn't think to look for refrigerated juices. I was looking for organic apple juice, and I prefer to fill dd's refillable bottle than to buy the boxes/pouches.

I think the produce deals are by far the best deals at the huge warehouse stores. That's a great price on the spinach.
