Why do I keep getting updates to subscribed threads in my email?

Frankly, I don't want to have to delete all of them once they come. It is tedious, and I have enough email to delete as it is. Is there a way to stop it? Is it an option somewhere or is it automatic?

OHeather- It's actually pretty easy to make the changes.



Towards the upper left hand corner of the OGD page click "User CP."

Then click on "edit options" in the list to the left hand side of the page.

Scroll down the page until you get to the section for "messaging and notification."

You should see an area that says "default thread subscription mode" and next to it a drop down box. You can choose "No email notification" from that list. You will still be able to see a list of subscribed threads in your user CP but will not be emailed the updates.

Don't forget to scroll down to the very bottom and click "save changes" before you navigate away from the page.


That should take care of it for you!

Just a llittle update and an additional bit of info that needs to be followed:

I keep get a few updates in my email. I couldn't figure out why. But I figured out what I have to do on my own!! Imagine that! So I thought I would share.

After you follow kristen.c's advise, you still need to go into your User CP and adjust the settings in your subscribed threads.

1. The column all the way to the right is clickable boxes. Just to the left of those give an explanation of your email settings. If they say "none," you won't get email updates. If they say "daily," they will come once a day if there are any updates.

2. Click the boxes next to the threads marked "daily."

3. Then go to the bottom of your list and click on the drop down menu. It is automatically set to "Move to folder...." Select "no email notification."

There! You're done!

You're right- I completely forgot that the changes aren't retroactive and that you have to do those manually. I'm glad you got it all sorted out though!
