DEAD DEAL Giant Food Stores - DEAD DEALS

They have Nature's Promise line of organic food. It is usually priced less than premium conventional food, but just as good or better quality. They have a nice selection of natural and organic foods. Prices are lower in my area (Salisbury, MD) for things like Kashi products than Wal-Mart! They do have a Bonus Card, and double coupons up to .50, unlimited amount. They also accept IP's.

Giant just sent a home mailer for some Back to Nature coupons, too :) I haven't tried their organics brand yet, but I'm glad to hear some reviews about it!

HOT Free Santa Cruz Lemonade AC @ Giant

Thanks to soapstone at HCW:

Quote:
Santa Cruz lemonade is on sale for $1.25/bottle. The Go Organic books (I found mine at Kroger) have a $.75 off any one Santa Cruz product. It says do not double on the bottom but mine doubled (to $1.25, no overage). I bought 14 today and plan to go back for 14 more.

Our Giants only double up to .50 Qs. Bummer. I saw that lemonade today and pondered if it was worth it.

There is a .50/1 Annies coupon in the current Healthy Clippings booklet. If Giant doubles, that'll be $.99 for a box of mac'n'cheese.

HOT Giant Supermarket- Feb 6-12 HUGE DEALS!

Giant- Sales Feb 6-12
View the ad here: Circular*-* Giant

There are some HUGE deals to be had at Giant this week!

My Picks of the week:

Chobani All Natural Greek non-fat yogurt 6 oz cup 10/$10

I've never heard of or seen this brand before, but after checking out their website, I see that their yogurt is indeed natural (no artificial sweeteners, additives, and made with hormone-free milk). I figured it was worth mentioning as it looks like it might be a new brand and so we may be seeing coupons or special introductory deals available.

Nature's Promise Deals-
If you haven't seen this post, you may not know that there is a Catalina coupon available for Nature's Promise right now!

The deal is this: you buy $10 or more of Nature's Promise products in a single transaction, you get a coupon for $3 off your next Nature's Promise purchase. The best way to do this deal is to keep your Nature's Promise total just over $10 as it looks like you'll only be able to get one $3 coupon per transaction (if anyone can confirm/deny this, please post!). When you redeem your $3 NP coupon, make sure to keep your total over $10 so you can get another. You can do this deal as many times as you want, but keep in mind that you can only use one $3 NP coupon per purchase, per store. I know I'll be making multiple trips this week!

Also keep in mind that there are lots of Nature's Promise products scattered throughout the store- you'll also find culinary stocks, chocolate, tortilla chips, bread, etc so keep in mind things that you aren't able to normally get a good deal on. The Catalina runs until the 26th though, so also keep in mind that NP products that aren't on sale this week may be on sale next week or the week after.

Nature's Promise sale prices for this week:

Nature's Promise organic milk (half gallon) $3.69
Nature's Promise organic yogurt 6 oz cups 4/$3
Nature's Promise organic applesauce 3/$5
Nature's Promise organic beans (canned) 10/$10
Nature's Promise organic rice 32 oz $3.29
Nature's Promise organic frozen vegetables 2/$4
Nature's Promise honey roasted snack bar 10/$10

My personal stock-up favorites are the canned beans and the rice. If I need a filler to get my total over $10, the snack bars are a great option.

Another great stock up deal from General Mills: Buy $20, save $5 instantly!

Giant just recently increased their coupon doubling amount to 99 cents, so all of those great 75 cents off coupons will now double to $1.50 which adds to the excitement of the deal for me.

Muir Glen has insert coupons for .75/1 for both "any" product and just for the soups. I'll be using the "any" coupons for the canned tomatoes and also loading up on the soup with my soup coupons. This is probably as good a deal as you'll come by when it comes to these products.

The Cascadian Farm part of the deal is alright, but I'm likely to focus on the Muir Glen options. The prices for the cereal, vegetables, and granola bars are inflated from what I normally buy elsewhere, but keep in mind there are $1 off insert coupons as well as the additional $5 off. My usual price for the Cascadian Farm frozen vegetables is $1 per bag, so I might use a couple bags as fillers after I run out of the Muir Glen coupons.

Sale prices listed below:
Muir Glen organic tomatoes 28 oz $2.39
Muir Glen organic soups $2.49
Cascadian Farm organic vegetables $2.79
Cascadian Farm organic cereal $4.29
Cascadian Farm organic cherry granola bars $3.99

How on earth do you get cascadian farms veggies for $1 a bag?

I was excited about this deal this week, with the $1 Qs I can buy 8 bags at $2.69 for a net of $8.52 after Q and $5 savings, which really has me happy dancing.!!

Planning to stock up on canned beans too! Thanks for the posts here and at HCW!

Just an FYI to everyone- it appears that the Cascadian/Muir Glen deal may not be loaded into the registers correctly, so be prepared to make a trip to customer service.

I have an awesome locally owned natural grocer that is frequently putting the 10 oz bags on sale for $1.99, so I use the $1 off coupons that are always out to load up at 99 cents a bag. I do most of my shopping there as their prices are almost always better than the other regular grocery stores in my area.

Any other Giant shoppers still out there who want to chat? I shop exclusively at Giant...they have the most organic/natural options in my area (no TJs or WF here. Boo!) and the service is by far the best around. They are pretty coupon-friendly, too, now that they've started doubling up to .99 and taking competitor's coupons. :)

Hi knittingintheround!

I shop at Giant, but not on a weekly basis. I'm usually in there about once a month or so. We're blessed (more like inundated, lol) with a whole lot of different grocery stores in a fairly small region, and we also have a really great locally owned natural foods market which has the lowest prices around.

Giant does have a lot of good prices on organics. The selections vary widely at the Giant supermarkets in my area though, and unfortunately the one that is closest to me has the smallest selection of organics. I like their Nature's Promise line of products.

Where in MD are you, Kristen? I'm on the Eastern Shore (on the faaar Eastern Shore, too far to make it to TJ or WF in Annapolis on a regular basis). We have Walmart, Food Lion, Superfresh, and Harris Teeter sorta close by in DE, And luckily, a couple decent independent health food stores. I try to buy all my produce locally at farm stands and farmers markets, but it's hard in the winter. I like the Nature's Promise brand for price and convenience. And with a picky pre-schooler, there are just some things I have to get at the regular grocery store.

We keep hearing rumors about a TJ coming to the shore, but....I'll believe it when I see it!

I'm in the eastern part of Howard county, a few miles from the Baltimore County line. We've got too many stores to list, and a Wegman's on the way. Whole Foods is a little too inconvenient for me to get to- the closest one is in downtown Baltimore. I shop mainly at Costco, Trader Joes, and a locally owned small chain called My Organic Market, and in the summers from the farmer's markets and farm stands. I also shop at Superfresh, Safeway, Weis, or Giant on a semi-regular basis for things that I can't get at the other places.

Anyone know if Giant will accept coupons from the Healthy Clippings booklet? I tried using the Co-op Advantage coupons there, and the cashier wouldn't take them. (They didn't scan). The Co-op Advantage, and apparently the Healthy Clippings, both have barcodes starting with 5, although according to the thread here at OGD about Healthy Clippings, they also say 'manufacturer's coupon'. My Giant (all Giant's?) DOES take competitor's coupons, but apparently didn't consider the Co-op Advantages Qs to be competitor's. Just wondering if I should trade for some Healthy Clippings booklets and give it a try or not.
