DEAD DEAL Giant weekly specials 10/9-10/15

Here are some of the better deals from this week's Giant Food circular.

It seems pretty rare that Giant's organic produce goes on sale, but this week there are 2 advertised specials: Nature's Promise (Giant's own brand of organic and natural items) Organic Salads for $3.49 and Nature's Promise Organic Romaine Hearts 2/$5. Although, you could probably get a better deal on local, organic greens at your farm stand or farmer's market since they are in season in many areas, if you don't have access to locally grown lettuce, it's a good option.

Nature's Promise ground turkey is $3.59 for a 16oz package...I use this to make turkey meatloaf....along with baked sweet potato and a salad, it makes a cozy fall meal.

Giant is still advertising their gluten-free/Taste of Home Healthy Cooking Magazine promotion that I posted about in last week's deals round-up. Buy $7 worth of participating gluten-free items and get a free 1-year subscription to the magazine. Many of the deals can be made even better by pairing them with coupons from the database.

Giant is also advertising Larabars for $1.15...I'm not completely certain, but I think that is their regular price. But, I do love Larabars! I like that they are minimally processed and have very few ingredients. My 3 year old loves the Chocolate Coconut ones as a treat....they just have dates, almonds, walnuts, unsweetened coconut, and unsweetened cocoa powder--5 ingredients! Pretty decent for a quick, once-in-a-while snack. (They are pretty calorie-heavy, so I wouldn't eat them everyday). I've been meaning to keep a couple in my car for 'emergency' snacks.

Please join in with any coupon match-ups or other deals you find this week at your local store. :)

Happy Shopping!

I was surprised the other day to find that the Nature's Promise celery was on sale when I went in. It was a quick stop hoping they even had organic celery in stock, and then when it was on sale (and not browned everywhere) I thought that it must have been my lucky day. Hopefully they'll continue putting some of the organic produce on sale!

And that is a great price on the turkey. I stocked up last week on the chicken, so it looks like this week I'll be feeding the freezer some ground turkey!
