Giant weekly specials 11/6-11/12

Looks like slim pickins for Giant shoppers this week.

The most exciting thing in the circular is a new Holiday Rewards promotion (details here) where you can redeem points for a savings certificate on a future order. The savings isn't much, but every little bit helps.

Nature's Promise all-natural whole chicken is on sale for $1.59/lb. Here's a link on meat/poultry label-reading made easy.

This time of year, I like roasting a whole chicken (usually I just brush it with melted butter, salt and pepper....although sometimes I add fresh rosemary or thyme). I also bake whole sweet potatoes along with it (just wrap in foil and place on the oven rack)....they cook in the same time as the chicken. Add another side dish for a nice fall meal. I love having already-cooked chicken for meals later in the week and also save the bones for stock (I just toss them in the freezer til I'm ready to use them). Makes for a few very economical meals.

Not much else stood out to me this week...Raw Revolution Bars are 2 for $3...Kettle Bakes chips are 2 for $5...I had the Salt and Fresh Ground Pepper flavor the other day and boy, were they yummy (and addictive!)

I'm hoping to find some organic products in the markdown section this week to make up for the lackluster ad. I'll post back with any unadvertised deals I find. Happy shopping!

Bummer! I know sometimes they'll have some of the Nature's Promise stuff on sale and not put it in the ad for whatever reason, but it still stinks.

That's definitely not a bad price on the chickens. I like to do the same thing as you! We did a roaster over the weekend with beets & "sweets" as we like to call it. Cheap, tasty, and healthy-- can't beat that!
