I remember when I was younger my uncle telling a story of when he was in high school (he's in his mid 40's now) they did an experiment where they took Coca Cola syrup (like what they use for fountain soda with the seltzer) and placed a chicken leg bone in it overnight. The next day it was totally disintegrated.
Nice, huh?
Though that didn't stop me then, I will say I have been totally soda free since April 2008 and I really don't miss it a bit. I was a diet soda person, which is just as bad if not worse.

And there's the wonderful stories about people using Coke to get the ring out of their toilets as well...

Coke is DHs absolute favorite soda beverage. He knows what it does to his system and he doesn't care. I have come to the conclusion that I would rather have Coke on hand and a happy DH, then have his evil twin come out jonesing for a coke fix.

Hmmm...hadn't heard that one before! I'll have to try it!! I remember when we used to "clean" pennies with coke <shudder>! 'Course, as with you Heather, that didn't stop me either! Sheesh...the things we did when we were young and foolish!

My brother says that he pours a coke over the car battery to disolve where the connections have gotten corroded. I've also tried the toilet trick and it really does work.
