Kristen and I would like to get a feel for what everyone wants out of this forum.

For example, are you looking for:

Motivation
Exercises
Exercise routine
Exercise tips-daily, weekly or monthly
DVD, VHS (who uses these any more?!-j/k ), TV show recommendations
Web links for great fitness sites
Links to walks, runs, triathlons, swimming events etc around the country
Non traditional exercises/fitness programs
Anything else my fried brain has thought of?

Please reply and let us know what you want! We want to make this a great forum to help everyone reach their goals and get inspired to live a healthy, long life!

**We'll randomly select a winner for a great RAOK at the end of March so we can give you a month to give us some great suggestions!**

I think that a good workout schedule would be great...

Like 30 minutes af cardio.. here are your choices. Warm up.. etc

Motivation is always wonderful.

Tips sound great.

It seems like I always do best when someone tells me what to do and when to do it.

I don't want to win the RAOK but for me motivation is the biggest thing I need. Someone to slap me around and tell me to get off my butt if that is what it takes. LOL

Recomendations for equipment, DVD, maybe workout music.

Im not going to be competing in any marathons anytime soon LOL

So I'm just checking in and so far it seems like the majority really want/need motivation.

What motivational methods work for you or have worked best?

daily motivating quotes or informational tidbits
success stories
making/posting weekly goals
starting our own exercise blog here
taking pics and posting them of yourself as you progress

Just trying to brainstorm...

daily motivating quotes or informational tidbits - This could be good, but maybe not daily, imo... but others might prefer this.
success stories - Always fun!
making/posting weekly goals - Excellent idea!
starting our own exercise blog here - Good for those who would take advantage... probably too much to add on for myself. But I think keeping a notebook journal is a great idea, so some people who enjoy electronic journals would like this option.
taking pics and posting them of yourself as you progress - This... no matter how much weight I lose.. lol... unless I weigh like 110 pounds... just isnt going to happen, lol. I had someone on HCW once ask for my before picture cause she didn't think I needed to lose weight.. I said "No way, you think I want you to say... yes, you do need to lose weight" hahaha

Like Earthartisan said, I do better when someone tells me what to do....at least when it comes to exercise. I think I need motivation and tips. "get off the computer and go for a walk", "take the stairs today", "park in the farthest parking spot and walk to go shopping". The weekly goals would be good too as I don't even know what mine would be.

Maybe another kind of motivation in the form of a RAOK. Maybe RAOK specifically for a thread of entering our goals or exercise we did or tips from each other. It would keep us thinking about being physical.

I think a weekly motivational thread would be cool, where we all commit to the same activity all week:

Week March 30 - April 5: Take the steps instead of the elevator at work.
Then we all chime in when we do that.

Week April 6 - April12: Enjoy the spring weather and take a walk around the block once a day.
Then we all chime in when we do that.

Etc, etc, etc...

I was just throwing out examples, but if there is enough interest, I'm sure we can persuade your Let's Get Physical mods to get it started. :D
