Who We Are

With all the over-built, over-hyped products out there, it's pretty hard to ﬁnd sustainable shoes that you can live with. So we started Simple, your stereotypical, anti-stereotype brand offering good shoes and a big dose of reality.
About a gazillion pairs later... give or take a few... we've managed to learn a few things. Well, actually a lot of things. And none more important than this: HOW we make our shoes is just as important as WHY we make them. That means finding more sustainable ways of doing business so we can make a gazillion more.
Which pretty much is where we are today... at the crossroads of here and now, aware of our responsibility to the planet while trying to pay the bills. The nice little shoe company getting in touch with its inner hippie.
Our Process

Sometimes our progress is notable while at other times the improvements are harder to come by. The important thing is we're committed to making our product 100% sustainable. Finding materials and processes that make our products sustainable is a method we call Green Toe. It isn't a magic formula, or a cure. It is a compass that, we hope, points to a bright green future.
Progress in Green Toe is measured with a scale called "good, better, best." The best category represents our most sustainable shoes and bags and sets the bar for the rest of the line. Moving forward these same innovative materials and constructions will be found in the good and better categories, raising the bar for the best products. Pretty nifty, huh?

! I just *had* to order (two pairs!). I mean, come on...less than twenty bucks for TWO pairs of eco friendly shoes??? With FREE shipping??? I was tempted to get the "stitch your own"...they have some really cool ankle mocs (in an awesome green color) ~ for $4.90!! I guess I should have bought those too, huh?

I'm so tempted to get those in the same color, BUT I just hit 100,000 miles on my Volvo and it needs to be serviced and after getting off the phone w/the dealer, I find it's also time to replace the timing belt (standard at 100,000). The estimate is $900, so I don't think I should even spend $4.90 right now on shoes.

Well, by the time I went to check out, the pink in my size were GONE - and the brown in the next size down was GONE - so I got the blue in the next size down and I'll cross my fingers that they fit. After the discount was only $8.91! Woot!

I'm pretty sure the pink ones were only available in size 05 yesterday. The hemp shoes I got a few weeks ago were true to size. I did notice on the 'sew your own' that they suggest ordering one full size larger than your normal size. Since the shoes you ordered are slip-ons, hopefully they'll fit alright.

That's what I was hoping with the slip-ons, too. If not, I'll be bartering with them in the trade threads, lol.

They had the pink in size 8 and I put them in my cart and went to look at another shoe, and when I went to checkout there were GONE OOS! I really wanted the brown, cuz I'm unexciting like that, but hubby had originally told me I should go for the blue, so if they fit, it'll be all good.

Wow!! That is another great deal for these shoes! I'm sure the sizes are way limited by now ~ heck, they were pretty low yesterday. I ended up going a half size up on one pair and a full size up on the others. The one I went a full size up on...I figure I might be wearing socks...they are sort of a slipper-y looking type of shoe. I can't WAIT to get my order!! I reallllly am soooo tempted to get those stitch your own! Sounds like fun

~ although I have some cotton yarn and wooden beads that are just calling my name (I'm going to crochet placemats ~ I've only had the yarn since.....Shhhh....January

Okay. I just ordered the stitch it mocs! I just COULDN'T resist! I really wanted the olive drab color, but they didn't have my size. The nutty color is okay...looks a little more "coral'ish" than I would like, so I ended up ordering the sand..which is totally neutral. I normally take a 7 and ordered up a size to an 8. 4.41 for them! Thanks for the extra code!! *sigh*....dh is gonna kill me =^.^=

For those of you who bought these....you must have gotten them by now ~ whaddya' think?? I've never purchased them and I....am....in....love with them! I haven't made the "stitch it" ones yet, but I'm sure (if I make them right!) I will like them equally as well! I got an email about their silk sneakers. They are sooooo cute! Didn't look at the price (I'm sure they're not on sale and I realllllly don't need anymore shoes right now!). Anyway, just checking in!

What ones did you get? I got the black suede tennies... They fit true to size and very comfortable insoles -- not a lot of arch support though, if that's a concern. I already had two pairs of Simple Shoes from last year that I got (requested, demanded) for Mother's Day, so I already knew I'd love 'em. SUCH a great deal. I went through casbaq, registered, got 5 bucks for first deal and then the 7% back, so VERY good deal. I'm just SO thrilled when a good deal and a good conscience coincide!

I got the Cartwheel and Overlay. I forget which one is the "slipper", but you are right, not much arch support (I have super high arches). The other pair is a type of lace up sneaker. Rugged and arch support is fine. I went up a half size and a full size (the slipper was the full size ~ I sometimes wear socks with them ~ they are a *smidge* big, but are really fine). The others fit well either way ~ socks or not. I just love these and will watch for sales, that's for sure!

Sorry to hear that jujubee! Yes, some kind of notification would have been nice.

I ordered a pair of the Piggies for my oldest as one of her birthday presents. They were just under $20 (50% off and FS). They came pretty quickly, as did the hemp pair I ordered initially. How do those of you that ordered the stitch-up ones like them?

Wow, just checked it out and they have nothing left, except that feedbag I keep looking at!

Nothing left on SALE, but I LOVE their new styles ($$$)!! I haven't stitched mine yet. I'm off for the summer (I'm a paraprofessional), but I've been sooo busy with my gardens and catching up on stuff from the rest of the year, I haven't had time! I *do* want to work on them soon! Maybe the next rainy day:~)
