CLUB CARD
Safeway stores require a Club Card to receive advertised specials and promotions. An application can be printed from home via the website, or received and submitted in the store.

Savings with the card, and additional private offers, are received automatically on checkout. If you forget your card, you can provide your telephone number at checkout to receive your savings. Your information must be current; you may update your personal information via the website.

Coupons
Do you accept Manufacturer Coupons?
Manufacturer coupons or special in-store-only Safeway coupons may be redeemed prior to expiration date. Many stores double coupon values, but this is subject to regional competition; check with your local store to learn their specific policies.


What Other Coupons are Available?
Manufacturer coupons are frequently available within the store and at the pharmacy counter. Special store coupons may also be available in the ad or in the store; these coupons maybe "stacked" with manufacturers coupons to increase your savings.

Club Card
How do I obtain a new Club Card?
Club Cards are available at your local store. You can print a club card application online and take to your local store. If you need a replacement card, please check "replacement" on the application, and we will link your old Club Card to your new one. If you do not have a Club Card and want to shop online, you will automatically be given a virtual card when you register.

Can I view the weekly sales online?

How do I receive promotional prices?

What if Safeway is out of stock on a sales item?
Items might occasionally be unavailable during sales. Safeway offers rain checks for items that may be unavailable on the day of your purchase. Rain checks are typically valid for two to four weeks after issuance. If an item remains out of stock, customer service desk will be able to reissue the rain check.

Check around the neck of the Organix shampoo bottles, most I've seen have MIR on them. I've never used them, but they smell wonderful!

If the organic green onions at western Safeways are like the organic green onions at my eastern Safeway then they are an excellent deal at 10/$10. The packages I get from my store are in a long ziplock type bag and actually have two bunches of onions in the bag. The non-organic usually run .79/bunch so the organic is almost always a better deal. Just a heads up.

Thanks for the info, Bexx. I bought tons of Safeway O Organics baby food last night but the cashier didn't give me the booklet. But she could have just been clueless because I did have to ask her for my receipt, $10 OYNO CAT, and free Safeway ice cream CAT as she started ringing up the next person. I shop Tom Thumb (TX Safeway/Randalls). That's actually where I find organic milk marked down to $2.50 a gallon pretty regularly!

My picks of the week:

Mayan sweet yellow onions 10lbs/$10
Onions are #45 on the dirty dozen list, meaning they are the least tainted traditional produce item. I normally buy organic onions for $1.49/lb from my local organic market, but since these are so low on the dirty dozen list, I'll be saving 49 cents a pound and getting traditional this week.

Hass avocados 2/$3
Avocados are #44 on the dirty dozen list, meaning they are the second least tainted traditional produce item. I normally only buy avocados when they go on sale, and organic avocados usually go for $2.99-$3.99 per pound in this area. I'll be getting a couple of these to make vegetable fajitas with guacamole for dinner one night this week.

Aqua star peeled and deveined raw shrimp, $5

There isn't any seafood that is certified organic, but shrimp is one of the better choices when it comes to sustainable seafood. At this price, I will buy a few bags and freeze them for future meals.

No coupons for this brand listed in the database, but still a great price on tofu!

Odwalla bar 10/$10
This is a good price for a nutrition bar. If you have the buy 4, get 1 free coupon listed in the database, it's an even better deal.

hot house tomatoes $1.47/lb
These aren't an organic variety, but the the dead of winter less than $1.50/lb is a steal on tomatoes. Tomatoes are listed as #29 on the dirty dozen list, so they're safe to eat non-organic varieties of. I normally buy organic tomatoes for about $2.49/lb from the natural market, because the quality and flavor is always superior and the price is usually similar to non-organic varieties, but at this price we'll be getting some hot house tomatoes from Safeway this week. If you have produce winetags, don't forget to use those to make the deal even better!

O Organics salads, 5 ounces $1.98
This is a steal on organic salad mix from Safeway. This price is for the smaller 5 ounce container which at Safeway usually runs around $4. Normally, I buy a 1 lb clamshell container of organic baby salad greens from Costco, and that runs about $5. But if you don't have a Costco membership, you can get a great price on organic salad greens at Safeway this week. If you have produce winetags, don't forget to use those to make the deal even better!

Hass avocados 77 cents each! (Fri-Sun only)
Avocados are #44 on the dirty dozen list which means they are incredibly safe to eat non-organic varieties of. If you're planning on having friends over to watch the Superbowl, you can load up on avocados and the hot house tomatoes and make guacamole to serve as a snack for your guests. I don't think I've seen a lower price on avocados since living in New Mexico. This is another steal! If you have produce winetags, don't forget to use those to make the deal even better!

California Pizza Kitchen pizza $3.99 (Fri-Sun only)
I'm planning on picking up a couple of these pizzas this week. I have a $3/2 coupon from Sunset magazine, which brings the price down to just under $5 for two pizzas. You can't beat the convenience, and I probably couldn't make these for too much cheaper than $2.50 per pie. They would also be great for anyone who is planning on hosting a Superbowl party. Don't forget to check your rebate forms, oftentimes there are liquor company rebates floating around for "party foods" where you receive some money back for spending a set dollar amount, and more often than not, you don't even need to purchase alcohol to qualify for these deals.


Other things worth mentioning:

Late July crackers $2.89
I don't see a coupon listed for these, and they're not a stock up price, but if you're looking for something organic to snack on it's a viable choice.

Genisoy Crisps $2.69 There is a .55/1 coupon listed in database which makes this another snacking option.

Bear Naked Granola $3.49 There are $1/1 coupons from various sources listed in database, $2.49 is a reasonable price for granola and puts the deal at about half price.

Kashi Go Lean Bar $1.59 There are $1/2 coupons from Delicious Living magazine and the same value peelies available. This is is pretty good deal if you use these products, but there are always sales on Kashi, so be sure check your other local options before buying.
