DEAD DEAL A&p 3/13-3/19

Not sure if anyone here shops at A&P.
I get their ads every week, but have never looked at them because they are kind of out of my way.
Welcome to A&P : My A&P : Weekly Specials Page

Here are some items of interest I thought I'd mention:

Kashi TLC Crackers $2.79
Lots of $1 off coupons floating around
Coupon Database

Nature's Pride 100% Natural Bread 2 for $5
A couple of good coupons floating around
Coupon Database

Oikos Greek Yogurt 2 for $3
Some $1 off coupons to make it 2 for $1
I've never tried this kind. I really like Chobani Greek Yogurt, so I hope this is similar.
Coupon Database

Produce:

Driscoll's Organic Strawberries 1lb $2.99 (#6 on the Dirty Dozen)

Organic Gala or Granny Smith Apples $1.99/lb (#2 on Dirty Dozen)
Not great, but not horrible deal

Organic Anjou Pears $1.99/lb (#12 on Dirty Dozen)
Again, not the best, but not the worst deal I've seen

Non-Organic Produce

Fresh Green Cabbage $.09/lb!!!! (limit 6 lbs) (#9 on the Clean 15)
Not a cabbage eater unless it's hidden in an eggroll but this is obviously a great deal!
For those of you that aren't corned beef fans, perhaps cabbage rolls instead:
Cabbage Rolls

Royal Purple Eggplant $.99/lb (#10 on Clean 15)
I only buy eggplant once in a blue moon, so I'm not sure about the pricing, but these days it seems $.99 for anything is a good deal (unless it's from the McDonald's menu)
Try these eggplant recipes:
Grilled Spiced Eggplant Sandwich
Chickpea, Eggplant, and Tomato Tarts

Bogus Deal

Earthbound Farm Organic Mixes 5-9oz $3.99
I don't find this to be a sale price. If you have a coupon perhaps, but at this price, it's not considered a good deal to me.

Ok that's a great deal on cabbage! WOW! We actually really like cabbage. It's really good just sliced up and lightly stir-fried with some olive oil and ground pepper. And if you're a cole slaw lover, now's the time to make it.

Also great prices on the organic produce this week too.

As for the cabbage, I will say I also like it in that Ramen Salad that is so addictive, yet SO bad for your waistline.
It's got cabbage, ramen noodles & the seasoning (filled with MSG probably), chow mein noodles, veggie oil (I use canola), cashews, sugar, balsamic vinegar and I think that's it, but I always bring that to get togethers. So, I want to reneg on my "I don't eat cabbage" statement earlier.
