Default Trash Bags

When I accumulate plastic bags, I use them to collect diapers in so they get taken out every couple of days so they don't stink up the house. (Yes, I am still using conventional diapers but making the switch, still have 1 more package to use). Anyway, I was taking them out last night and I thought, well even if the diapers were biodegradable, they wouldn't be able to because they are tied up in this plastic bag. Is that right??? So, does that happen with regular trash bags? Are there such things as biodegradable trash bags? I would like to think that I can help reduce by throwing away things that will eventually degrade after time. I've been thinking more about this since I have watched that green show (can't remember the name right now) on TLC and it talks about the family print you leave on the earth. (I think I have to go look that up now.)
