Is there an eco-friendly glue or paste the would do the trick instead of finger nail polish? I like this idea, but I think the smell of the nail polish may be bothersome.

Those eggs where really cute. If anyone should attempt to make one or some of the eggs they should post the pictures.

I have no idea...I would assume that a clear acrylic medium would work also and there wouldn't be any odor associated with that. (For the clear polish.)

I know they sell nail polish at my local organic markets, but I don't know anything about them. They might be an option.

Another thing to consider is spray paint- I think you can get stuff that has no VOC's at Home Depot now.

Penelope Pince is on a distinguished road
Default Re: Eggshell gift wrap

Hey everyone, this is Penelope, sister of Madoline who created the Eggshell Gift Wrap blog post. Thanks for sharing it with your friends; we're glad you like it.

As for OHeather's question about alternatives to nail polish, my sister suggests trying the following:
  • Water-based acrylic paints or enamels
  • We haven't tried this one yet, but a crackle varnish might make for an interesting look.
  • Possibly a glass paint?
All of these things can be picked up at a craft store. My sister says nail polish still gives the best finish and it doesn't smell once it's dried. Or perhaps a nail polish from an organic store as mentioned above would work for you.

Thanks again, Kristen, for sharing our link. :)
