DEAD DEAL Shaw's Wild Harvest 8/21 - 8/27

Shaw's Online Ad

Shaw's Printable Coupons

Finally a deal that OGD members will do! Shaw’s has been lack-luster in the organic deals this summer. But here goes…

Morningstar Farms Meatless Items are on sale for $3.33 each. There’s a $.75/1 tearpad coupon that doubles—means $1.50 off each box! Plus, if you spend $25 (shelf price), you get a $10 OYNO catalina.

Here’s a scenario with only Morningstar products (guessing on the shelf price):

Buy 7 boxes (assume $3.99 shelf) = $23.31 sale
Use 7 coupons (only 6 will dbl.) = - $9.75
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $13.56 OOP, and get a $10 OYNO

Do this deal more than once, use the previous order’s catalinas, and you’ve got yourself one great deal! Now, to make this even more of a money maker, there are some MIR (mail-in-rebates) available!!!! Kellogg’s Fuel for School inserts were in a recent paper. There’s a $10 MIR wyb 10 products on one receipt. You can also find these MIRs as a tearpad in Shaw’s (at least I did). One thing about these different rebates is that they all have different PO boxes, which means you can do more than one rebate! Just make sure you only do one to each address, otherwise you’ll be out $10. I think that there are 2 more rebates. I will get more info on that and post it ASAP!

Here’s a scenario to do for the MIR (shelf price doesn’t matter):
Buy 10 boxes MS Farm = $33.30
Use 10 coupons (6 dbl) = -$12.00
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $21.30…get back $10 OYNO, submit $10 MIR. So only $1.30 for ten boxes of veggie burgers or other meatless products!!!

Just a little disclaimer about the above deal:
Be careful though, if the product contains soy, it is likely that it is GMO. You're only guaranteed it to be GMO-free if the organic wording is in the ingredients list. This is an interesting article about the subject: Top Five Ways to Avoid GMOs in Your Food

Organic Red and Green Seedless Grapes are only $1.99/#! That's normally what conventional are, and you don't want to buy conventional grapes . You can also freeze them and eat them! A nice and healthy, cool treat for summer! Plus, there are winetags for $1/any produce. (You just have to find them)!

Harvesting Your Own Sprouts is pretty easy. I might just wait until Fall at this price: Jonathan's Organic Beansprouts are $1.50 for 12 oz.

The Wild Harvest Spring Mix or Baby Spinach will be on sale also for $5.99. I believe this is for an 11 oz. package. Check the coupon database for a $1/1 printable coupon. An even better choice is to buy the Olivia's Organics at BJ's. It's the same price, but for 16 oz. You can really tell the difference in the amount you get.

Kashi TLC Crackers are only $2.50/box. You can print 2 coupons per computer for $1.50/1 through the link in the database. That means each box is only $1! Now would be a good time to stock up on them for the upcoming holidays. I'm sure a party's not a party without a cheese and cracker plate for most families.

Barowsky's Organic 100% Whole Grain Wheat Bread is only $2.50. That's a pretty good price. No coupons listed in the database though.

A few other sales are in place for this week, but nothing spectacular. If you're in love with Pete & Gerry's Eggs, then go ahead and buy them for $4.49/dozen. But the farmer's markets are still going full throttle, so I'd rather buy them there if anywhere. The price will be about the same, but you'd be supporting the local economy and choosing a smaller "footprint."

Great picks for this week, Heather! I'll have to do some research to see if that Morning Star deal is happening around here.

I just noticed that the &.75/1 tearpad coupons state "one per customer per visit." So the scenario I posted above won't work exactly. I did get a catalina for $.75/1 after buying several boxes, but those don't usually double. There are some other coupons also available listed in the database:
Kellogg Company - Coupons $1/1,

Morningstar Veggie Foods Products, Any - Kellogg's Fuel for School
$1.00/2, 9/27/2009, Booklet

Morningstar Farms Veggie Foods Product, Any - "Smokin' Hot Love"
$2.00/1, 12/31/2009, Booklet

Morningstar Farms®, $1/1

The Smokin' Hot Love coupon is the best one, if you have those!
