ShopRite Sales: September 6th – 12th (Prices pulled from Dutchess County, NY flyer)

Just want to highlight a produce item this week where we’ve got both organic and conventional versions on sale.

· Organic bananas are 79¢/lb, conventional ones are 39¢/lb

When we’ve got a budget to work with (and just about everyone does these days), opting for conventional produce that’s on the “clean fifteen” list can help us save money to use on other organic items, like meat or dairy. Conventional bananas are outside of the “clean fifteen”, but do rank closer to the clean end of the list. This is one of those cases where I’ll be buying the conventional version…
