Superfresh Sales: Feb 6-12 (cheap natural eggs!)

My Picks of the week

Driscoll's Blueberries 6 oz 2/$3

Conventional blueberries are listed as #32 on the Dirty Dozen list, so they're more than safe to eat non-organic varieties of. I'll be stocking up on these and freezing some for later. Don't forget about using your produce winetags if you're lucky enough to have them!

Morningstar Farms entrees 2/$7

There is a coupon available in the Easy Solutions booklet which is normally located at the end of the registers or the customer service desk. I haven't confirmed if this is a manufacturer's coupon or a store coupon. (If anyone knows for sure, please post, as well as let us know if this is a coupon that will double or not.) I've seen these go on sale for less, and on a fairly regular basis, so unless you need them (these are a vegetarian diet staple) I'd consider holding out for a better deal.

Kozy Shack rice pudding bowls 2/$4
According to the database, there are various coupons available which bring this price even lower. I don't normally stockpile snack foods, so when I see a good deal on a natural snack I like to indulge once in awhile. At this price, there will be a little indulgence this week!

Kozy Shack Cereal Grains 2/$6
As a personal preference, I'm not fond of thes. Even after coupon I don't think they're a fantastic price, but there are others who really like them and that's why they're listed here. From the advice I've been given: try the original flavor as the apple variety is much too sweet, and they're better hot than cold. You can find this product in the refrigerated section along with the Kozy Shack pudding. Be sure to use one of the coupons listed in the database for the best price- you'll get $1.10 off after doubling. If you haven't tried the product before, you might want to hold out until a triples event to get a better deal.

Land O Lakes Brown Eggs 2/$5
These eggs are from vegetarian fed hens which is why they are considered all natural. This is a great price for natural eggs, but if you've got coupons it's an even better deal! There are various 50 cents off and $1 off coupons listed in the database which will bring these down to $1.50 per carton. I haven't seen a price that low on eggs (even traditional!) in quite some time. There is also a .75 peelie listed in the database so keep a lookout for those as well. If you have the coupons, buy an extra package or two, and consider baking a couple of quiches to freeze, or have breakfast for dinner a couple of nights.

Florida Oranges 4 lb bag $2.88
Oranges are in season right now and listed as #19 on the dirty dozen list so they're safe to eat non-organic varieties of. This is a great price for oranges so we'll definitely be getting a bag or two.

Organic Gala Apples, Granny Smith Apples, or Bosc Pears $1.99/lb
These are all listed at the top of the dirty dozen list, so they're very important to buy organic varieties of. Bosc pears are especially delicious this time of year, and I'm not going to find a much better price for these in my area so I'll be stocking the fruit bowl this week!

Buyer Beware:
Earthbound Farm organic salad mix 5-9 oz $3.99

I can get a 1 lb clamshell of organic baby salad greens at Costco for just under $5 so this isn't a great deal for me. But if you don't have that option, be sure to use a 75 cents off any Earthbound Farm salad coupon to bring the price down. Superfresh will double this to $1.50 which makes the price much more reasonable!

Earthbound Farms baby peeled carrots, 1 lb $2.29
As a general rule, I don't buy baby carrots. I find it costs about half as much to buy a pound of whole carrots and peel/chop them myself which usually takes about 5. To me the savings is worth it, especially since in our household we go through a lot of carrots. If you need the convenience of baby carrots, be sure to use the $1/1 any Earthbound Farm organic produce coupon to bring the price down a bit.

There are some great deals this week, especially when it comes to the eggs and blueberries, but if you're located near a Giant supermarket, I'd advise doing the bulk of your organic shopping there this week!
