Headquartered in Rochester, New York, Wegmans is a privately held, family-owned company, founded in 1916 by the Wegman family. Danny Wegman is CEO, and Colleen Wegman, his daughter, is president. Danny's father, Robert Wegman was chairman of the company until his death at the age of 87 in April 2006.

How Wegmans Compares to Other Grocery Stores:

More like a European open-air market: Dazzling displays of fresh produce, artisan breads and other baked goods hot from the oven several times a day. Displays of fresh-caught seafood, meat, deli products and imported cheeses, international foods - plus all the foods and household items usually found in supermarkets.

More choice than possibly any other supermarket chain: More than 70,000 products, compared to an average of just over 40,000 (according to the Food Marketing Institute) in most supermarkets. Take cheese, for example: Wegmans usually has 500 specialty cheeses on hand.

Larger than most supermarkets: (We need room for all that stuff!) Stores run 80,000 to 130,000 square feet in size. Aisles are unusually spacious.

What is Shoppers Club?
Shoppers Club is a free program offered to all Wegmans customers. With a Shoppers Club card, you can save every week by receiving electronic discounts on hundreds of products in our store. You can also apply for check cashing privileges, which will allow you to write personal or electronic (or paperless) checks for your purchases and/or payroll and government checks. To add check cashing services to your Shoppers Club account, simply visit the service desk at your local Wegmans. Shoppers Club members also receive discounts for services and community events that are linked to the program.

What is a Shoppers Club key tag, and how do I get one?
Just in case you forget your card at home, you can use this key-chain version of your Shoppers Club card for discounts only. It cannot be used for check approval. If you are just now applying for a Shoppers Club card, you will automatically receive key tags.

How is the purchase information collected through Shoppers Club used?
