So I tried some Kashi products at my local Hannaford Bros. grocery store a few weeks back, and got this nifty little free reusable bag when I bought two boxes of their cereal. There was a tag on the bag,and lo and behold, I was appalled at the facts stated on this little tag. Here are the facts that it gave me, that I did not know, and might suprise you as well:
14 plastic bags contain enough petroleum to drive a car one mile.
( That one floored me!!!) pardon the pun.

380 billion plastic bags or wraps are thrown away each year in America. Making a paper bag emits 70%
more global warming gases than making a plastic bag, and
zero paper bags biodegrade in landfills due to a lack of oxygen. Lastly, cities spend up to 17 cents per bag in disposal costs, wasting millions in tax dollars.( see 1 Bag at a Time : Reusable Bags :: Reusable Grocery Bags :: From Lisa Foster) Ever in Skowhegan Maine?

Try Spice Of Life store on Route 201 North, that's where I picked up the pamphlet for this website. It's our organic central, although HB has a good selection too.
